Melissa M. Frye

I began my writing career as a book reviewer for AOL and moved onto a movie review column in a newspaper supplement. A couple of decades later, I’m an award-winning poet and storyteller whose work appears online and in print. I’m a member of the Poets’ Roundtable of Arkansas, inaugural member of Ozark Mountain Poets, and founder of the Quill & Rhyme Poetry Group. My poetry is personal but relatable and encompasses many subjects and themes. I write adult fiction in several genres all focused on experiences and emotions.

It’s surreal when someone praises my work or thanks me for providing useful feedback. I credit my writing community who embraced me immediately. From conferences and classes to workshops and retreats I’ve met talented writers who encouraged and guided me on my journey. I’m blessed to call many of them friends and it’s gratifying to pass along what they taught me to the next writer.

I’m a creative soul living in Northwest Arkansas and an avid Razorback fan.
